BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - B.A.S.S. has introduced its newest interactive app, Bassmaster News, to help fans stay connected to all things bass fishing, all the time.
The Bassmaster News app is a daily news feed that brings the user up-to-the-minute details on everything in the bass fishing world.
"Our audience tends to be on the go - spending a lot of time in the great outdoors," said Jim Sexton, vice president, digital at B.A.S.S. "So they're increasingly accessing content via their mobile devices.
"The new app gives them a steady stream of news about all the cool things going on in the bass fishing world - including up-to-the minute tournament details, fishing tips and gear news. The app makes it easy for fans to keep up with their favorite sport no matter where they are."
App coverage includes tournament news from all of the Bassmaster tournament series: the GEICO Bassmaster Classic presented by Diet Mountain Dew and GoPro, the Bassmaster Elite Series, the Bass Pro Shops Bassmaster Opens Series presented by Allstate, the B.A.S.S. Nation and the Carhartt Bassmaster College Series.
How-to advice and columns from the top pros, as well as details on the latest fishing gear are conveniently at the user's fingertips.
When a live event is taking place, the app displays specific menu options for that tournament in order to help the user navigate the many outlets of competition coverage.
"The tournament updates are loaded to the app in real time," Sexton said. "So if Mark Davis just caught a 9-pound bass, I'll know about it 60 seconds after he caught it, whether I'm standing in line at the bank or out fishing myself. All the content is optimized for the small screen, so it loads superfast."
As a first-look into the inspiring stories on the people, places, events and more that make up the B.A.S.S. lifestyle, the Bassmaster News app serves as the ultimate source of information for bass fishing fans around the globe.
Earlier this year, B.A.S.S. released the Bassmaster Magazine app, which enables readers to experience the magazine in a new digital format. The digital edition of the magazine takes advantage of touch-screen technology to enhance the reader experience, and includes multimedia content, 360-degree image views and smart text areas.
All B.A.S.S. apps are now available on Android smartphones through the Google Play store. The Bassmaster News app is compatible with the Android 2.3.3 and up.
Both apps are also available on iPhones through App store and are compatible with iPad and iPod touch as well. These apps are optimized for iPhone 5.
